Usually, the yield is between 70~75%, you can mass production of semiconductor chips. Samsung 3nm process yield is lower than 20%, and TSMC 3nm yield more than 80%, and is approaching 90%.
Technology media sammyfans think samsung and TSMC cooperation is not impossible, samsung’s Exynos chip design and foundry belongs to different departments, System LSI business unit is responsible for Galaxy device design Exynos chip, and the actual foundry is Samsung Foundry.
In addition, TSMC’s yield rate is significantly better than Samsung’s foundry, so Samsung’s System LSI business unit can choose to cooperate with TSMC to mass produce Exynos chips.
